BROWN SUGAR STOUT
6.1 % ABV - 18 IBUs
Named for the owner’s great uncle Bob Donehue. Bob was the dancing king of the Folly Beach Pier in the 1950’s. He had the finest foot work around and to show it off he spray-painted a pair of loafers silver.
Exclusive to our Munkle Brewing Co. taproom, we serve this beer with our stout faucet and blended nitrogen gas. In the mash we use roasted malts from 3 different countries (United Kingdom, Germany, and Belgium) which add flavors of coffee and cocoa. To lighten the body and give a burnt cookie flavor, we add 100# of brown sugar to each batch. Our house Belgian yeast rounds out the finish with notes of star anise and dried apples. The light body and medium sweetness is carried by the creamy mouthfeel from the nitro tap.
Pairs well with fried chicken and waffles, sweet or savory pastries, ripe berries, and anything with chocolate or vanilla.
Malts: Pilsner, Munich, Cara 20, Chocolate, Carafa Sp II, Roasted Barley / Hops: Helios, Tettnanger / Other: Brown Sugar / Yeast: House Yeast / Water: Charleston’s finest filtered
